- ~400 kt/yCO2 capture design basis
- 90%Capture rate target
- 25Long-lead items quoted
- Class 4AACE estimate
The challenge
The producer wanted to capture CO2 from its kiln flue gas and needed a firm design basis to start FEED, including how the licensed capture unit would fit with existing utilities and plot space.
Our scope
- Design basis and philosophies
- Integration of the licensor process package
- PFDs, H&M balances and preliminary P&IDs
- Utility and offsite definition
- Long-lead equipment list and budget quotes
Our approach
We integrated the licensor's package with the plant's flue gas, steam and cooling water systems, and checked all balances across design and turndown cases before enquiries were issued.
- Flue gas pre-treatment and compression concept
- Steam and cooling water impact study
- HAZID and early HAZOP
The outcome
The pre-FEED gave the producer a consistent basis for FEED and grant applications, together with budget quotes for the major long-lead items.
Scope of work
- Design basis
- Licensor integration
- PFDs / P&IDs
- Utilities
- Long-lead list
- HAZID
