One team, every discipline
How each engineering discipline contributes to Detail Engineering — coordinated through one lead engineer, one model and one document register.

Model-based piping design
Piping is designed in the 3D model and progressed through formal 30%, 60% and 90% model reviews with the client and construction team.
- Equipment layouts, plot plans and piping GA drawings
- Isometrics, spool drawings and bills of materials extracted from the model
- Pipe stress analysis in CAESAR II to ASME B31.3 / B31.1
- Pipe support standards, special supports and nozzle load checks (API 610 / 617 / NEMA SM23)
- Clash detection and review in Navisworks / model review tools

Structures, power & control
Civil, electrical and instrumentation design are developed in parallel and coordinated through the model and interface registers.
- Steel structure and foundation design in STAAD.Pro to AISC / IS 800 / Eurocode
- Electrical load flow, short circuit and cable sizing studies in ETAP
- Cable schedules, lighting, earthing and lightning protection layouts
- Instrument index, data sheets, loop and hook-up drawings (SmartPlant Instrumentation / SPI)
- Control system I/O lists, cause & effect and interlock narratives

Site support to handover
Engineering support continues through construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning until the documentation handover is complete.
- Site technical query (TQ / RFI) resolution with defined turnaround times
- Field change notices and design change management
- Vendor document review, comment and certification tracking
- Redline incorporation and as-built drawings and models
- Final documentation dossier and model handover to operations
Frequently asked questions
Which software do you work in?
Commonly AVEVA E3D / PDMS, Hexagon SmartPlant 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, CAESAR II, STAAD.Pro, ETAP, SmartPlant Instrumentation and Navisworks. We adapt to the platform, catalogues and procedures of the EPC contractor.
How do you manage quality on IFC deliverables?
Every deliverable follows a documented checking process: originator self-check, independent discipline check, inter-discipline check and approval, with model audits before each milestone.
Can you integrate vendor data into the design?
Yes. Vendor drawings and data are reviewed, commented and incorporated into the model, layouts, loop drawings and data sheets as they are received.
Can you take over residual engineering from another contractor?
Yes. We review the existing deliverables and model status, agree a handover plan and continue with minimal disruption to site.
What is the typical turnaround for site queries?
Turnaround times are agreed with the project, typically 24–72 hours depending on the complexity of the query.
