One team, every discipline
How each engineering discipline contributes to Point Cloud to 3D — coordinated through one lead engineer, one model and one document register.

3D Design & Digital
Manages scan registration, tolerance and model QA.
Key deliverables
- Scan registration and clean-up
- Model-to-cloud deviation reports
- Clash checks against existing plant
- Native or neutral exports

Clean, registered point clouds
Scan data is checked, cleaned and prepared for modelling, and the modelling tolerance and level of detail are agreed with you before production starts.
- Import of registered scans (E57, RCP / RCS, PTS, LAS and native formats)
- Registration quality check and control point verification
- Noise removal, segmentation and area-wise packaging
- Modelling tolerance and level-of-detail (LOD) matrix agreed up-front

Specification-driven 3D objects
Components are modelled as intelligent objects in the target platform, carrying line numbers, specifications and tags.
- Piping with line numbers, sizes, specs, valves and in-line items
- Equipment with nozzles, platforms and ladders
- Structural steel, concrete, cable trays and HVAC ducts
- Modelling in AVEVA E3D, SmartPlant 3D or AutoCAD Plant 3D
- Model-to-cloud deviation checks and QA reports

Design that fits the existing plant
The as-built model is used for new design and for extracting up-to-date documentation.
- Tie-in identification, tie-in isometrics and demolition drawings
- Clash detection of new design against the scanned plant
- As-built piping isometrics, GA drawings and P&ID verification
- Model export to Navisworks / review platforms and asset information systems
Frequently asked questions
What point cloud formats do you accept?
Registered scans in E57, RCP / RCS (Autodesk ReCap), PTS, LAS and most native scanner formats. Send a sample and we will confirm compatibility.
What modelling accuracy can you achieve?
Accuracy depends on scan quality and registration. We agree a modelling tolerance (typically in the range of ±10–25 mm for piping) and verify it with model-to-cloud deviation checks.
Do you model intelligent objects or just geometry?
Intelligent objects in the target plant design platform, with specifications, sizes, line numbers and tags, so the model can be used directly for design and isometrics.
Do you carry out the laser scanning?
We focus on processing and modelling. We can work with your existing scans or coordinate with a scanning partner.
Can the model be delivered in our software?
Yes — AVEVA E3D / PDMS, SmartPlant 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or neutral formats for review platforms.
